SOLAR ENERGY comes from solar radiation that Earth receives in the form of light, heat or o UV rays, it's a clean and renewable energy.
Solar energy is infinite and it doesn't harm the ecosistem. It's considered as one of the most promising energy sources in the world since it contributes to our planet's sustainable development and job creation in the areas in which they are implemented.
If we compare the sources of renewable energy and the sources of finite energy in a reading of the annual potential of exploitation it's remarkable how the availability of solar energy is superior to the others.
With the available technology, solar energy can be harnessed nowadays through three types of systems which are the Photovoltaic System, Solar Thermic System and Heliothermic System.
THE PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM consists in the generation of electric power using sunlight as primary source of energy, solar panels catch this light and they transform it into electric current so it can be used on houses, stores and industries. This is the most used method to lower bills and set aside voltage spikes.
THE SOLAR THERMIC SYSTEM utilizes solar collectors to absorb the heat produced by the sun's radiation and transfer them through copper pipes to a thermal reservoir for its storage, that way the house's water is heated.
THE HELIOTHERMIC SYSTEM uses direct sunlight to generate electric power. The solar collectors reflex the sunlight and they concentrate it in one spot. In this spot is placed a receiver through which a thermal fluid flows. The accumulated heat warms up the fluid to a gaseous state, the steam generated moves the turbines, activating the power unit that will generate electric power.
